Hey All,
Last night I used my headlights for the first time since I put in the Detroit Speed headlight motors. Went up fine (or so I thought) and got home. But when I went to lower the doors, only the passenger side went down. hmmm....
So I got underneath and after putting them up and down a couple of times, I realized that the headlight lever that bolts to the headlight housing had broken off. See the red circle in the first picture (not my headlights). Then in the second pic see the bolt (and a piece of plastic) missing (These ARE my headlights).
I really don't want to have to buy a new flap/housing and have to get it painted to match, etc. So I am going to try to pull it out and JB weld the piece back on and brace it a bit. If it doesn't work I'm no worse off.
I have already unhooked the actuators and springs. Is all I have to do to pull the cover off now pull the three bolts on the pivots on each side? I looked it up but couldn't find the answer if I didn't have the actuators hooked up.
If I get those unhooked can I take them out the top?
Any tips are appreciated.
