I have had the car only a few months and the brakes seemed pretty good to me. I had seen threads about upgrading brakes in a base model which I read thinking some day I would do this.
The other day the right rear tire was leaking a bit, maybe a pound a day so I took it to Discount Tire to have it looked at. A few weeks ago it was the left rear. Turns out it was the seal on the valve stem so I figured this was the same thing. Turns out this one was just loose, barely finger tight.
Anyway, I wanted to look at the back of the wheel to see what width it was and noticed the rotor was drilled, and vented. Didn't expect that. Then I saw the brake pad, it was a Hawk PC504. That was a surprise. Didn't expect that either.
I searched the Hawk site. There is a mention of a PC = Performance Ceramic but no specific mention of a 504. I did find a Hawk Performance HB504F.740 HPS Performance Ceramic Brake Pad. Where do they fall in the Hawk line?
Thanks!
